YOGA LIBRE YOGA STUDIES INTENSIVE & TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMS

Your Opportunity to advance your practice, enhance your understanding, and share your passion.Take your practice to the next level, whether you desire to teach yoga or not!

The Yoga Libre Yoga Studies Intensive program will provide you with an integrative, comprehensive education in hatha yoga technique, anatomy, and comparative philosophy designed to bring you a greater understanding of the practice of yoga and how yoga fits into your modern-day life. It makes sense to learn more about yoga itself before you learn how to teach it, and while this Intensive is a pre-requisite to the Yoga Libre Teacher Training Program, anyone can benefit from the program, regardless of your plans to teach. The journey of self awareness is life changing. All interested yogis are encouraged to take this step and see where it leads!

The Yoga Libre Yoga Studies Intensive program will meet one weekend a month in September, October, November & December 2015. Classroom time will alternate between more up-tempo periods of asana practice and more contemplative periods of group discussion, meditation, and pranayama. Specifically, we'll be exploring the following:

Asana: Refinement of both beginner and intermediate yoga postures
Anatomy: Important bones, boney landmarks, and muscles; connective tissue, & energetic anatomy like chakras,
meridiens, etc.
Biomechanics: Evolutionary foundations of biomechanical alignment, how to practice it in yoga poses and take it off your mat
Yoga History: Where does yoga come from? Who invented it? How did it evolve over time?
Yoga Philosophy: The major ideas that have evolved over the history of yoga and how the might apply to your life as a modern Hatha yogi.

Should you decide to share the wonderful gift of yoga as an instructor, upon completion of this Intensive, you would then be eligible to enroll in the Yoga Libre Teacher Training Program. Our intention is to provide you with the highest caliber education by giving you the tools to think critically and uncover a teaching path that is true to you. It’s designed for students of every lineage who want more depth, skill, and insight in their practice and perhaps ultimately in their teaching.

FAQ

What is Yoga Alliance?
The Yoga Alliance (YA) is the largest nonprofit association representing yoga teachers, schools and studios in the U.S. Yoga Alliance registers both individual yoga teachers and yoga teacher training programs who have complied with minimum educational standards established by the organization. Many studios and gyms required Yoga Alliance registration as a way to ensure that their teachers have attained a minimum level of training. It is our intention that upon completion of the Yoga Libre teacher training program, you will have completely satisfied the requirements to register as a 200-hour Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. Learn more on their site: yogaalliance.org

What are the payment and refund policies?
A $300 non-refundable deposit is due with application to Intensive and charged upon acceptance. You may submit your deposit by check, cash, money order, or valid credit card information. Once accepted into the program, each payment is non-refundable.

Do trainees receive any discounts or specials?
Yes! Students receive unlimited classes at Yoga Libre for the duration of training.

How is Yoga Libre's program different than other
Our program has a heavy emphasis on practice teaching within each course session. In addition, you will learn different teaching techniques that reflect an understanding that people learn in many different ways. Yoga Libre's curriculum is robust and includes not only Asana and Teaching Methodology, but also Anatomy, Philosophy, Ethics for Teachers, Meditation, Sanskrit, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Beginners, Aromatherapy, Yin Yoga, Chakras, the Subtle Body and Nutrition.

Do I need to have an advanced practice to participate in this training?
Yoga Libre's teacher training is an intense course of study, requiring a substantial investment of time and energy. While no particular level of asana practice is required for the training, the curriculum is not geared for beginning students, and we require at least one year of yoga practice as a prerequisite.

I am not necessarily interested in teaching, can I participate?
Absolutely! Yoga Libre's 200-hour teacher training program is a yoga immersion designed to deepen your own practice. Many students are unsure when they enroll if teaching is in their future. This in-depth experience of yoga will be rewarding regardless of your plans to teach. While we do spend a great deal of time preparing you to teach and assist, the journey of self awareness is life changing. We encourage all interested yogis to take this step and see where it leads them!

Does tuition cover materials and textbooks?
Your tuition covers the cost of Yoga Libre's teacher training manual. A reading list for other required reading will be delivered to you in advance of the program and those texts may be purchased separately at any yoga bookstore or online.

Will I teach during the training?
Yes! You will teach your fellow trainees and teachers from the start of the training. Practice teaching sessions are scheduled throughout the curriculum.

What if I have to miss a session?
It’s essential that you complete all the modules of this training in order to be elible for certification at the 200-hour level. However, emergencies do happen. During the training, you can miss one session as long as all homework, practice teachings, and curriculum exercises are made up at a later date, which may incur extra cost by requiring you to book time with Nancy or any of the other teacher training instructors at their hourly rate. Please discuss any possible absences with us in advance so we can make sure you stay on track.
